787 Coffee was born from a dream: to bring the finest Puerto Rican coffee to the world while owning every step of the process. We are the only coffee shop in New York City that owns its own farm — Hacienda Iluminada — nestled at 3,000 feet elevation in the misty mountains of Maricao, Puerto Rico.
From planting and harvesting to roasting and brewing, we control the quality at every stage. The result is a cup that is unmistakably fresh, sustainably grown, and deeply connected to the land it comes from.
Hacienda Iluminada sits in the heart of Maricao, Puerto Rico’s coffee country. At 3,000 feet above sea level, the cool mountain air and rich volcanic soil create the perfect conditions for growing exceptional Arabica coffee. Every bean is hand-picked, sun-dried, and carefully roasted to highlight the unique terroir of the region.
We believe in giving back to the land that gives us so much. For every bag of coffee or tote bag purchased, we plant a tree in Puerto Rico — helping reforest the island and protect the ecosystem that makes our coffee possible.
